Broken is Finished!

Happy October, backers!

I want to thank you all for your patience as we have not posted an update about the progress of developing Broken in awhile. A lot has changed since our last update, so I wanted to share some of those details with you, some good news, PLUS, it happens to be my birthday. So, I have a birthday gift for all of us.

First the good news and birthday gift. Broken’s full game is officially finished, and we are posting the full version of the game for you all now. You should be able to download the complete version of the core game with integrated safety rules and other updates. We’re going to allow a couple weeks to hear your feedback or any mistakes in the pdf you might catch before the actual, final version of the document will be complete. We also still need to add the thanks section for all backers, including thanking you by name. If you have a specific way you’d like your name displayed in the book, please email me at benjaminearlwallis at gmail dot com and let me know!

You’ll see in this version of Broken the fantastic safety design and implementation of safety into the game done by Beau Jagr Sheldon of Thoughty Games. Huge thanks to Beau, Zack Garth, Jean Verne, and Melissa Wallis for the great work and support that went into this version of Broken. I hope to hear many of your play stories as you get to take the full game to the table.

We’re starting to pivot hard to finishing the Scenarios stretch goal. Many of the Scenario writers have given me awesome drafts, and I can’t wait for you all to be inspired by them or play the full Scenarios.

As I mentioned, a lot has changed over the last two months behind-the-scenes working on Broken. You may have already heard that I left the All Ports Open Network and APON Games as a partner in the business. I’m pleased to still be around the network producing shows like Delinquent Comics. For now, we’ll continue to publish Broken with APON Games and I express my thanks to Josh and the All Ports Open Network.

Lastly, I will be reaching out to everyone who backed at the Pocketing: Play with the Author level so we can start scheduling our games together. If this is you and you’re excited to get the ball rolling, feel free to send me an email or a dm, I’d love to hear from you.

Thanks again to everyone for backing and supporting Broken: a Tragic Romance Game and for the whole team behind Broken. I’m very grateful to share my birthday with you all this year.
